The TISWorks Library provides a number of functions common to most TISWorks applications. If the library is not available on your system or too old a version, the TISWorks applications will not start. Either Windows itself will give a warning - in case the library is missing - or the application itself - when the version is too old.
TISWorks applications show the version of the library in the Version dialog box. You can get the version information via the menu Help -> About. A screen similar to the one below will be shown:
Versions
In practice three different versions of the library are in use
- Version 6: used by all applications built around the Microsoft MFC 4.2 library - typically until mid 2007
- Version 7: used by all applications built around the Microsoft MFC 8 library - typically as Q4 of 2007.
- Version 8: used by all applications built around the Microsoft MFC 9 library - typically as of Q2 2010.
